Macbook Air-Worlds most thinnest laptop

Steve Jobs presented officially a new notebook MacBook Air. During his speech at Macworld 2008 he told that MacBook Air is the most thin laptop in the world: the front edge of the shell thickness of the device is only 0.4 centimetres! The notebook weighs approximately 1.36 kg, which was also a record - but only among 13.3″ laptops.

Three main engineering solutions helped to achieve such outstanding results: non-embedded optical drive (as an accessory to the MacBook Air is an external drive with a USB interface - SuperDrive for $99), the use of the LCD screen with LED light, and finally the use as the basis of the laptop a special version of processor Intel Core 2 Duo with the reduced dimensions. MacBook Air has a sensory panel: Apple implemented a multi-sensory support (it can recognize multiple-touch at the same time). This significantly increased the possibility of a touchpad using in application management. Apple MacBook Air is equipped with a built-in webcam iSight, controllers 802.11a/b/g/n wireless networks and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.Apple MacBook Air

The price of the novelty is not so high - only $1799. This is partly due to the use of comparative cheap 1.8″ hard drive capacity of 80 GB with the speed of 4200 RPM spindle rotation. Also a basic configuration includes processor Intel Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz and 2 GB of RAM DDR2 SDRAM-667.Also there is another configuration of Appe MacBook Air with SSD hard drive (64 GB) and with a 1.8 GHz processor. But its price is $3098.
